Potential Tuner
1.4t automatic rwd transmission
Hi I'm looking at installing a 1.4t engine from a cruze with a bigger turbo, injectors, and intercooler with a bigger exhaust into my 1973 opel gt.
I can only do this if I could find an automatic rwd transmission to work with it. Options are 4l40e, 5l40e, or since the cruze cane with a 6t45 im wondering if the programming would work with a 6l45 instead?
My car is only 2000lbs so hitting 250hp to close to 300hp would be a great combination.
If anyone knows how to tune the cruze ecu to work with an automatic rwd instead of the fwd, it would really help.
I'll buy everything with the tune once I can confirm there is something out there.
BTW I'd want an ecu tune that has everything deleted except only what controls the engine and transmission. Sometimes called a standalone or race tune. My car has no integrated electronics.
Thanks.

Potential Tuner
I'm surprised no one has replied to my questions so im wondering if I might have explained this wrong.
I am new to tuning. I don't know anything about ecu and tcm's.
My goal is to use a Chevy cruze or sonic 1.4t motor with an automatic gm transmission in my 1973 opel gt that's a front engine rwd 2000lbs car.
I'm trying to learn about what is needed for the 2 computers to work together. From what I understand both the transverse 6 speed auto and the longitudinal 6 speed both from gm use the same software but the shift points are different as well as the lockup because both have different gears.
From what I understand the ecu and tcm has tables to control them but instead of the tcm simply using a plug and play to send the shifting information to the ecu, it needs the information manually entered into the ecu.
I might have misunderstood what I read, but does the ecu care if it's a longitudinal or transverse transmission, only that the tables are setup correctly.
I would rather pay someone that knows what they are doing to make a tuning flash for the ecu and tcm deleting all extra accessories just leaving the engine and transmission management because my car has non of the new stuff in it. Can I find the tables from a cadillac 2.0t that uses the transmission I'm using to put the correct information into the ecu?
If nothing else, is someone able to put on a link to somewhere that explains how the ecu and tcm communicates and where the information needs to be changed? I want to know if what I've read is correct or if I'm on a wild goose chase based on incorrect stuff I've read.
Again I'm surprised the ecu wouldn't be told by the tcm when it's shifting so the ecu would slow the engine rpm down instead of the other way around. Plug and play is used in basic computer accessories. It seems odd that car computers aren't the same.
I have alot of respect for everyone on here that have learned this stuff. I'm hoping someone out there can help a sister out so I am getting the correct information on how this works. I learned computer programming along time ago and have dabbled recently with Android so as long as there is a quality place to learn from, I think i might be able to figure this out myself if what I want to do is not anyone else's cup of tea.
Thanks.
