2017 ram 1500 hemi sport 6 speed, that's how they came in mexico, 8 speed swap with the stock pcm and modified file from German sound automotive everything works except toque reduction
the biggest problem that i have right now is its not shifting into 8 above 120 km/h (75 MPH)
here is a log i hope i didn't forget any pid
To your point: Changes in shift schedule and aggression should help you out in the issue.
There are other points to be worked on, including:
- Shift schedule not harmonic
- Flare during some shifts
- Torque management
- Torque converter
- Clutch underfilling
I have the HP70 sound german in a challenger, If in track mode I have to manually shift into 8th at HWY speeds. You can PM me the PCS file to look at if you wish, and I may be able to tell something about it. Also, send me the PCM file, there are torque reduction settings in there most likely that need to be utilized.
Dodge Boy 8HP can fine tune that for you once we see what the deal is with the PCS.
that tcm tune so far is the best that i have feels pretty good apart from a little flare in a few shifts (2-3), i dont have the pcs, its connected like a stock 8hp70 with some costume wiring that i made, sound german only modified the stock pcm file to work with the tcm, i have tried everything torque management does not work also the torque converter is modified by a local shop i can brake it to 3000 rpm if i floor it from 0 it flashes to 2500-2600,
Ok you don't use the PCS. The engine appears to have some necessary functions enabled in torque management but it is different than my 2020 tune, and I am not up on the ram tunes. Do you have a PID called torque reduction by chance in the engine parameters ? You may need to get back with Russell. I would not stress too much over it, if you make less power than a Hellcat i don't think you will hurt the 70 if you use common sense, don't do back to back runs and watch the temperature. I try to stay between 135 and 195F. I am not using any torque reduction at the moment with a 426 N/A and it clicks the shifts off in 200 and some ms and no issues..
I will go over the shifting again a little better, In a typical hellcat, or my HP 70 car there are 3 drive modes to choose from. Track mode in those vehicles backshifts to 7th on the freeway so it is always ready to shift to the correct gear if you nail it. So if I want 8th i can shift it there manually.
I don't know how many modes you have to choose from, maybe one, and if so and cannot shift into 8th manually, I would let Dodge Boy adjust the schedule for you. You don't want some jackwagon messing around with that stuff.
It would be much better to change that out especially since if you have a converter, or you could leave in 2nd gear like some guys do anyhow with 3.08s
i'm at almost 7000 ft and its a crew cab if i was boosted 1st might be to sort but for now i don't think second gear leave would help dead hooking i get 2.1 60' with slicks in 2wd, 2.3 with 20 inch wheels and nitto 420v tires and 4wd
best run so far on the street with slicks (28x10x17) hoosier draggy.pdf
