Just picked up a 2008 F350 king ranch SRW truck with 342,000 miles that has had the EGR and DPF deleted and 5" exhaust. I bought this truck from a dealer with absolutely no previous knowledge of what's been done to it or what tune it has. But this truck looks and runs amazing. Absolutely no leaks, no noises, no blow by, no lights, or exhaust leaks that i can find. Alot of new and reman parts under the hood. Who ever the previous owners where they took great care of it and didn't molest it with a bunch of crap. I'm not new to tuning but new to diesel tuning and willing to learn.
I'm not really impressed the the trans 4-5 shift point and the shift pressure seam just a touch to snappy for every day running around but looking at the shift point there's no 4-5. I'm also having some PATS problems ( sometimes the truck is not recognizing the keys and will lock out the starter) and want to just remove it but the the description par said that it may not disable all models. Is the there another trick to disable in HPT for PATS?
I don't want to add a crazy amount of HP and stress out the motor / trans but mainly having a ultra smooth tune that's well mannered and capable of towing my camper and trailers. With this tune it has now, I'm getting 20.5 mpg ( speedo is correct and mpg was checked by dash and fill refill milage calculations) over a 700 mile 3 day trip of highway/ backroads/ and so stop and go town trips.
The trans issues is that it won't shift into 5 until i get to 52-53 and when your in a 45 mph zone and in my driving habits ( old man cruising ) i really personally want it at shift into 5 around 45mph easing around. Then I'm going to setup the Tow button for the firmer/ little higher mph shifts.
Here's my as is file i pulled this morning that I've been comparing to other ones on here.
