2010 Suburban VVT and DOD delete with cam upgrade

Hey there guys, I?m getting ready to do my first tune and I have never done it before. I am getting rid of VVT & DOD and I upgraded my cam toIMG_3629.png and 112 LSA. Any advice or suggestions would be great!

Horrible cam choice for a big heavy Suburban. And if you 228/230 is the lift you don't understand cams.

Thats a bad choice of camshaft.
Did you select it based off idle videos?

Selecting a smaller camshaft would be the best advice. Depends on gear ratios and tire size and torque converter tho.

What gears and tires does the suburban have?

Id much prefer a cam of these sizes for a heavy truck.

That isn't a great choice. I'd stick to a much smaller cam. It will be easier to tune but the real reason I suggest this is.. Every cam is a trade off.. you trade high RPM power for low RPM power.. etc That is a simplified explanation. But the cam you posted will make less power than stock below say 4000 RPM.

Your choice in cam is going to depend on if you run headers or not too. If gas mileage is a concern.. towing.. etc.

Stock tires, and I think 373 gears. They are stock as well.

I’m running stock manifolds at the moment, gas mileage is a little bit of a concern and I don’t tow anything with it more than maybe 1.5k.

What I’m ideally looking for is decent gas mileage and more power.

Then I would be looking for a sub 210 intake duration with a tighter LSA than stock and under 550 lift.

Your not going to be happy with that cam choice.

4.11 or 4.56 gears and a 2800 stall converter will make that cam just OK .....
    Choose a different cam !!

I recently put a BTR Stage 1 truck cam in a 2009 H2, 6.2 liter. It is really great with the stock converter and I can smoke all 4 35 by 12 inch tires off the line if I want to. Stock intake so it isn’t too loud. Stock gears, I forget what they are. The mileage dropped from 9 mpg to 8 around town. Idles pretty smooth. It drives like a light weight vehicle now. Good luck with your build.
