    Engine Will Not Start

I have a C4 I put a 5.3 in. It will not start. When I connect with VCM Scanner, I see an RPM signal but under channels fuel system #1 status is "not ready". The car currently has the original 700R4 rather than the 4l60E. Not sure if that is what is confusing the ECM or not. The engine harness is an aftermarket piece for manual/non-electronic trans. I know it is not firing the coils via spark indicator tool. I don't think it is firing the injectors either, plugs are not wet, do not smell like fuel after cranking. Attached is the file I pulled from the ECU.

This is likely to be an electrical issue. Probably several of them.

What else would it need to start? All connectors are plugged in on the harness. The harness came with its own fuse block, only required 1 switched power wire. Fuel pump is an LS swap pump with built in regulator and return.

Someone applied a SD patch (3 bar oS) and never filled in the VE. That is the problem.

I don't think that would make it have no spark. Grounds for the coil packs would though.

Check your reading. .6K ohm is 600 ohms, which is not good. I suspect your reading is .6 ohms, which is 6 tenths of one ohm, which is acceptable.

correct .06 ohms. There is nothing on the harness to record fuel pressure. Not sure if that is a requirement or not.

    This is a major problem.

If he's using one of those inline spark checkers.. he might see no spark because at this point plugs are fouled. Regardless. filling in that VE is 1st step. It will never run like that.

No, your PCM does not have the ability to know if you have fuel psi or not and it is not a requirement for it to know.

Plugs look like I just took them out of the box. What should the VE table look like? Can I flash a sample tune to it? I see one in HPtuners/Logs and Samples/Samples for an 02 Camaro. Sorry guys, this is my first experience with EFI and I am about 10 seconds from putting a carburated Gen1 in it.

You don't check grounds for resistance. There's no load there. It'll show continuity if there's 1 copper strand left holding the eyelet on. You need to check for volt drop with a volt meter preferably but an incandescent test light will work also just less accurate.

This doesn't sound right for a true voltage drop test. I would expect a little difference on a loaded circuit.

There is not difference. Volt meter red to batt+ black to batt- = 12.49v, red to coil power black to batt- = 12.49v. The harness has nothing for accessories or trans control. It came with a fuse block that only required 1 wire 12v supply.

Not really what we are talking about and you haven't checked the ground side.

I'll read over that and do some additional tests when I get back.

Is it common to have voltage drop issues with all new harness/sensors/coils?
