kinda new to the tuning world and also a gm guy tipically not ford but a buddy of mine has a 05 f150 5.4 black oak op system and were pretty sure his pcm is bad he has already ordered and received the new pcm same part number on label is it possible to flash the new pcm to his truck with hp tuners or do i need to take it to ford to flash in his vin thanks in advance
You will need a J2534 pass through to program the vin into the new PCM. You will also need a scan tool to program the keys to the vehicle he must have 2 you will need to gain security access then do a parameter reset. Now HPT can delete PATS so you can start the truck even if the keys are not programmed.
