    Rookie needs help please

I'm an old mechanic that needs to update my knowledge base. I need HP Tuner (GM stuff) to do basic things like turning fans off and on and adjusting tire sizes etc. Trying to figure out which HP Tuner I need. I don't want to get into fuel tuning or anything beyond basic needs. Could someone suggest which program to buy? Suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks

Go with the HP Tuners Standard VCM Suite, it should do all the things you need it to do.

You'll get 8 credits with your purcahse, which is good enough to do 4 GM vehicles. Past that it will cost you 2 credits per for additional vehicles.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Thanks for the reply! I'll look for a good price on this. I've been trying to find out what computer power and operating system is required to run this with no luck?

It will run on windows XP, windows 7 and 10 no problems.

I run it on all 3. Just make sure whatever laptop you have has a good battery.

so whats the main difference between the standard and the pro? I would like to purchase the standard but can I do my own tuning with the standard like you can the pro? I downloaded the demo Which version is it. I have a modified (cam, heads etc.) 2010 vvt 5.7 HEMI if it helps any. I know its a lot of questions but I currently use DiabloSport and Well I just don't want to purchase the product if I have no more options than I do now. Which should be completely understandable. Can I get more lope sound with the standard. I'm just tired of having to pay some one $250 or more every time I add something to the vehicle? Thanks

The pro version has a provision for 4 analog inputs - which can be used to log a wideband oxygen sensor or any 0-5v signal that you might want to add and log with the scanner.

The Pro version really is what every tuner should get in my opinion - that way you always have the option if you need it

Wow, where has all the time gone? UPDATE: I wound up selling the vehicle I was planning on using HP on so everything was put on hold until now. I now have a 68 Chevy C10 with a Gen3 4.8 LS in it and just purchased the MPVI3 to make a few changes. Nothing drastic for now as I'm a rookie at HP Tuners but I need to change the Fan#1 and Fan#2 on/off temperatures. It's a stock engine for now and I'm running a 180* thermostat. At the moment fan#1 is comming on too low and both fans need to be changed. The previous owner made these changes so I have no log to refer to for stock temps. Another issue is my scanner and my Dakota Digital temp gauge numbers don't agree. Fan#1 on, dash says 185*F, scanner/ECM says 195*F. Would anyone have the stock temps for a 2002 Silverado 4.8 and more importantly the recommended or suggestions to the on/off temps.
    appreciated!
    Jim
