No, these are much different but they all have some sort of locking mechanism. Almost every DOHC engine has mid locks with few exceptions

Arent we all always right? Speaking of that matter, i was able to make some decent gains with vvt changes on a 2019 6.2 silverado. Dyno verified gains. Managed to loose 1hp on a l99 camaro today doing the same thing.

that's why I always say ever tune is different and every vehicle is it's own special (insert foul langue of your choosing)
