    2004 chevy 1500hd 6.0 stage 3 cam

Hello, I purchased a Texas speed stage 3 high lift camshaft, on my 2004 chevy 1500hd 6.0 and am interested in a good tune. Fired truck up and it idled fine; I was surprised because most can't get an idle without tuning. I purchased HP tuner, it's on the way, but I am interested in a good tune to maximize the investment.

Needs more injector too if you didn't replace those yet.

Can't make power if you can't supply enough fuel.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    When did a 216/220 cam become a stage 3?

When it was marketed for a 4.8 in a heavy truck, lol. I loathe all the "stage" bullshit with regard to mods.

That cam is fine for a 6.0L. There was a time when a cam labeled a Stage 3 would have been much bigger and wouldn't have idled fine on the stock tune.

The misfire diag won't work with a cam. You might as well not scan that stuff. If you don't disable/de sensistise the misfire counters with a cam the TCC will never lock.

On that cam you can multiply all misfire diag tables by 2 and the cel will still flash during a nearly dead misfire.

my memory is rusty, but i think its the UK that started the 'Stages' of modifications.
where it actually meant something, and not just a random name of a thingy someone used.

also, my GF laughed at the "chop daddy thats the wrong hole gawk gawk 9000 big loper" cam name..

I only remember the "stage whatever" crap going back to the mid 1980s, but I may have just not been aware of it before then. At least some of the stupid names are actually funny.

I like the old style cams, 3/4 race and full race.
