    2010 gmc sierra 5.3

So I've been using g my truck to learn how to tune. The truck is stock other then a dod delete.

Ive notice that going up hills my throttle response is next to none. So I hooked up the scanner and noticed. That with traction control on my knock retard is pulling timing. With traction control off I have better pedal ,better performance, and no knock retard. I'm having a hard time understanding the correlation between my traction control and just normal driving.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to log all spark parameters available in the scanner and see what is actually responsible for the timing pull. Also are you sure it is not stabilitrack that is being disabled along with traction control?

I hit the traction control button on the dash and it disables it until I spin excessive tire. To my knowledge the traction control and stabiltrack are the same on my truck. I even tried to do it in the scanner and the same thing happen. I'll look here in a bit for all the spark pids log them on my way home and post the file.

I see upto 13.5 degrees knock retard...
The one time I had severe knock retard, it turned out to be loose motor mount bolts.

FWIW I've been running mine with 'torque loss runtime' of several seconds, instead of .5 seconds factory default.
(engine -> general -> traction control system)

Can kick the tail out and drift on dirt and grass now, but I haven't slid very long, so haven't done much testing.
You might disable it for testing, if it's re-activating past a certain speed..
