2011 Silverado 4l60 to 6l80 swap

2011 Silverado 4.8 with a 4l60 that grenaded coming home from work. Bought a low mile reman 6l80 that had already been used in a 2012 Suburban. Swapped engine harness with a 2011 Silverado 5.3/6l80 harness. Downloaded a tune from Denmah for a 2011 Silverado 5.3/6l80 off the tune repository.

Dealing with 3 different vins here.
1. Original truck
2. Donor Trans vin.
3. Donor file vin.

How do you go about segment swapping, vin swapping, and writing the new file so that the BCM isn't freaked out when I fire the truck back up? Understand how to do the segment swap but the "Vin Swap Wizard" in VCM Editor seems to only change the ECM's vin, and not the TCM correct?

Also would like to know the correct order of operations to do this so I don't spend unnecessary credits. Original truck's ECM, TCM, FPCM, has already been unlocked by me when I tuned it for a cam. And those calibrations I'll have to swap over too.

2011 and 2012 6L TMCs are a different part number so you won't be able to flash a 11 calibration into a 12 TCM. The 12 TCM should be able to comm with the 11 ECM. The ECM doesn't really care about the VIN in the TCM. If your 2011 file from the repository has the same gear ratio and tire size as your 2011 you could just load it as a compare file and copy over the shift scheduling and TCC tables into the 2012 TCM. All that shouldn't require any new licensing either.

I just got everything together and noticed truck had a weird communication issue with the trans as soon as I turned the key on. Gear indicator doesn?t show up on the cluster and trans temp is missing. Won?t crank either.

Tried to read the TCM file with HPT and got an Invalid Checksum error. Will show me it?s 2425490 OS tho. E38 ecm original to my truck is 12639835 OS. This trans has run and drive in another vehicle before, so not sure why it won?t let me read the file. It?s not a factory TCM flash that they have when they?re new im assuming.

Can I license the file for the donor 2011 5.3/6l80 file with 24256125 TCM OS and write entire over my TCM? Or do I need to have it reflashed back to stock with a Tech2 scanner or equivalent?
