Years ago before I had HP Tuners myself, I had someone come over to disable DOD. I bought 06 envoy denali with 5.3 and lifter issues. Made cam, lifter, ect swap to remove DOD. He had some kind of issue about finding where to do it even though he did this regularly. I know. Anyway he ended up using one of the tunes he had from a Tahoe or something else that uses a similar engine without dod. But now I want to change other things specific to the envoy like stability control ect. But the options aren't even there from the tune he used from something else. I have the software now and have done a few minor things to my cars. Is it possible to find a stock tune for this that I can download and start from scratch? 06 envoy denali.
Without your VIN there is no way to know what calibration would be correct for your Envoy. I have 3 06 Envoy 5.3L files and no two of them are alike or even use the same main OS number. And many of the other segments in the files are different too.
This file is pretty close to what your Envoy would have been stock. Only segment 2 is different and only by 1 digit. It should be close enough to use as a compare file.
Writing this tune back to my envoy, I get this message. Write calibration selected for (E40) but operating system ID's are different.
Never seen that before
My E40 Operating System is 12606494
Your tune E40 Operating System is 12612557
Can this be fixed?
If your ECM had a file with Operating System 12606494 that was not the correct calibration for your vehicle. Not even close. And the file I provided did not have your VIN in it. It was intended for you to use as a compare file. Go here https://tis2web.service.opel.com/tis2web/ and enter your VIN to see what is the correct OS and segment numbers.
I plan on using your stock tune and disabling DOD from that. I wrote that last night but haven't ran the envoy yet. I am also hoping with your stock tune I can disable stabilitrak as the options should actually be there vs the whatever tune it had.
A HPT Tony Gonyon video I seen showed going into scanner, controls and special functions, system, then it shows esc enable and esc disable. Unfortunately for me I don't have those options for some reason.
