Unable to read ecm
Sorry folks, I have a few threads on here for the same vehicle but different subjects.
Working on a 07 TBSS, when I connect the mpvi3 to the truck with the original ecm in it I get an unable to connect screen. However when I connect another ecm from the same year trailblazer with a v8, HPtuners recognizes it and will allow me to read the file. Could my original ecm be bricked? I?ve always thought that wasn?t possible with e67s? I am unable to make the changes to the spare ecm to work in my application by myself using HPtuners right? It will require a tech2 tool to make the changes needed from what I understand.

That?s the screen I get when connected to the original ecm.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone?s able to spend a little time helping me out I?d gladly gift you some money on PayPal.

could be tuner locked. Do you have credits for each ecm?

The ecm that won’t connect has credits, the other 2 that would connect don’t have credits.

were you able to read the original with the editor not the scanner? Im asking because when i first started out with hptuners when i tried to read with the editor thats when i found out that my ecm was tuner locked and it took me to the screen to type in the code which i did not have and ended up buying a new ecm

Oh wow, were you atleast able to pull the tune? Yeah I was able to read and write with the editor before. The scanner had no issue connecting either. I tried a cheap scan tool and it was unable to connect also.

no. it was tuner locked so i had to buy a new ecm and have the local dealer flash the stock tune before i could start tuning

I have a spare ecm same year. I wonder if I could have a dealer correct the vin for me so I can write my tune to it.
