i have been chacing a knock issue, id get a light on the dash and scan it . it would say knock low on driver side. i change the sensor moved them with the ict billet blocks. still getting the knock like 8 at 4000 rpm. took awhile to get it to show up im the logs. but i finally saw it. been dailing the time back. checking the ve. doing anything i could. i was thinking that the headers and the pipping for the exshaust was hitting the frame. was just about to ripe it all out and go with stock stuff. so i get under the truck on the driver side looking around changed the donute gasket. then i saw it the dam collector not sealed up, at the top of the collector hard to see. about 1/2 gap at the top. so i think i got it. been logging for few days no light has popped up yet. this is really the reason ive been messing witht he tune cause pcmforless keith really had me a really good tune. the man knows hs stuff. but im learning. i know people do this to feed their families hard to get people to pass on things that took them along time to figure out so those that has helped me i do understand and thanks

Your ve still looks pretty unrealistic. If you apply a 1 bar sd custom os it will get rid of the secondary ve table. If you upgrade to a newer os you will probably fix the knock problem as well as going down to only 1 ve table. I have a lot of knock issues on 99-00 os so i just swap in a file from a 2002 truck in all of them now.

If you use the custom os for 1 bar sd then you wont.

It is in the os tab to the left of the engine tab. The maf still functions as well.

i need a phd. to figure this shit out. never mind. ill just go speed density, thanks for trying. there is nothing for the operating system that i have. i have be on 2000. after that the os i have isnt on hptuners tune depository. i just went threw all of them couldnt find nothing. im stuck with two ve`s. dont want to keep bugging you. i know im getting on your nerves cause im getting on mine. so thanks for the help. u tried with me. o.s. # 9381344 and o.s # 1283005 is the one with 1 bar map. i cant find nothing that is a single ve table in hptuners. i think speed density is only thing that i can do. other han getting someone to dyno tune this, ive done mail order tunes , and ive had someone drive around with me and tune it. its just not right. it drives like a beast just this dam check light pops up and it says knock when i know its not. i know what it sounds like when it pings and this thing is not. one last question and ill leave u alone. on speed density.how rich would you think i should set this. 2 ,3, % or more? maf to no error responding and no light. then set to (0).

    whoa dude.

    calm down.

take a few days off and forget about the car for a bit. Getting upset and bothered does no good for anyone. tuning isnt as simple as people think it is. Not every engine is the same. They all take different steps to get 'tuned' correclty. How you do it, how i do it, and how the person down the road does it will all be different.

Take your vehicle to a local dyno tuner and have them get it set up for you.
A dyno tune is not the end of tuning. But it will set you up for WOT runs and youll know your AFR and all the good stuff.
Street tuning is where it's at for everyday driving. This is where you set up your VE table and MAF and anything else for everyday driving.

but a not clear head gets you in trouble.

so take some time off and then come back to it.
Ask as many questions as you need. Things dont happen fast.

My own truck, me and Higgins went abck and fourth 28 times changing the tune to optimize it.
A tune is not a one and one type of thing.

I think he is said to apply the "custom operating system" for 1 bar speed density. That is not the same thing as installing a different tune from a different donor.

OS Tab, apply the speed density enhanced OS Code modification, save it as a different file name, never overwrite your original file. Be sure to follow the directions exactly when you click the apply.

Flash this file into your vehicle. Use the channel config for data logging. Use the scanner controls and reset your long term fuel trims. Go data log a 15 minute drive and post it back here and somebody will fix you up.
