tip my hat to you gentlemen that have mastered VCM editor...i am not one of you

2016 ram 5.7 after lifter / cam failure in my brother inlaw's truck, i agreed to help him do the job as paying a shop to do it flat out wasn't an option. it was my stupid idea to add a hot cam. i figured youre already swapping a cam, why not get a good one?. and in retrospect the man i spoke with at length from texas speed could have been a little more fourth coming about whats nessesary. he diddnt lie... but incredibly vague...like surprise this cam swap just went up $1,200 beyond the cost of cam kit. long story short, motor is back together and ive been able to get it to start and run for about a minute before things just change??? stft's pulling -27 at times yet aem WB reads perfect. ive tried atleast 15 versions of tweaks to stock tune. never left the driveway as i cant even get it to chill in one spot. ive only gotten as far as i have by deep diving vcm editor with A.I's like GROK and CoPilot. but i feel bad, its been almost a week since we got the pcm back and all was left was to tune and my Brothers life is all jammed up having a busy family and down to 1 car. i feel like i know my way around VCM editor by now but i am lost at the same time if that makes sense. anyway im about at the point where im going to come out of my pocket to fix this truck. at least id learn something. if you know dodge tuning and can help me get this thing back on the road id appreciate it. i dont want to waste any ones time and from the work ive put in these last few days i see why this is protected information.

tsp cam i attached a pic of cam card, and the stock tune file. i hope they attached, this is my first post to the community. nothing crazy about the build, stripped to clean block, new main / rod bearings, cam / lifters, mds delete, phaser lock pin, and shorty headers, upgraded high flow oil pump.

as im writing this it's 1 am...the guilt of not getting this truck running is killing me. tomorrow with or without help ill be giving it hell ALL day im sure. not sure why i can attach a jpg, jpeg,or png i took with my phone maybe someone could shed some light on that too.

Here will be a rough startup for that truck. May need to go in the scanner and reset ltft or whatever it is called in special functions.

So what cam did you go with?
Just posting a link to it would be most helpful.

thanks man, i gave it hell most of the day before i seen this. its weird how youre making progress then all of a sudden....it goes to shit. just copied your tables over to a copy of the stock tune &...truck did start right right up. sat at 12-13 afr on the wideband for most of the run, then 30-40 seconds into running it creeps lean and i shut it down when i see it get to 15-16. i have attached the data log from the run as well as the modified tune to match your tables. this has been driving me insane, i was planning to take the fundamentals of efi course from hp academy online tonight. i truely do want to understand this. i thought i was on to something with adjusting startup airflow and the ve tables.

Something doesn't look right. More accurately stated, something doesn't add up. The file posted here the VE is cut nearly in half and the trims still want to pull another 25-30%. That's ain't right for that cam.

This should be posted in the Dodge section not the lounge. Just sayin......
