Setting up tables and hitograms in VCM scanner

    Hey

I am fairly new to tuning and still learning lots.
I am currently trying to log idle desired airflow in my brothers truck to setup a good idle for the new cam we installed
I have searched all over and cant find a simple explanation that works to set up a table or histogram to log so I can adjust my base running airflow in P/N and in gear.
I have tried a few things with none of them working.
I did find an old thread on here for idle tuning and downloaded the .cfg file but I cannot figure out how to get it to work. It is from 2008 I have found so definitely for an out of date version.
I am attaching my attempts at making a histogram and a table for logging idle desired airflow if someone could let me know what I'm doing wrong or where I can go to learn about it in simpler terms than I have found so far.Idle Air Desired.Table.xmlIdle Airflow Desired.Histogram.xml

I'm just a hobbyist and I don't get too far into the histogram side of the software as I don't mind sifting through the data to understand what is happening. With that said, have you been looking at your idle trims? Short term idle trim (STIT and LTIT) Those two are telling you the difference from the Base running air flow (BRAF) that needs adjustment or is making adjustment. Like the Lambda error and Short term fuel trim (STFT and LTFT), if the LTIT in neutral is sitting at minus 10 lb/hr (-10 lb/hr), you need to subtract at least half of that from the BRAF and run the test again.

I also think if you dig around enough you will find things like this to point you in the right direction.
