    P59 issue

was asked to do a basic tune on a swap truck. It's a older 98? model, had a v6. They put a 5.3 and a CHOPacabra cam in it. The ecu they used is from a 04 silverado p59. serv no. 12586243 and the hdw no 12583659. The truck will crank and idle, dies on touching pedal. I found that the computer is a dbw and the truck has a cable throttlebody. Can't the p59 be configured to run either? If so...how can this be done? If I need to load the tune...let me know, it's on my laptop.

From searching around it looks that that PCM should have the IAC driver chip installed, your best bet would be to start with a file (write entire) from the repository that was DBC with a p59 from the factory, configurations can be changed in the tune and it might work? However it is unknown what other differences in software there are, and also the fact that not every parameter shows up in VCM Editor. Something important could be missing that would need changed.

You need to swap to a DBC file. Express van the same year with DBC would be my starting point. The vans with stabilitrak were DBW. So make sure the ETB check bit is not checked in the system options matrix in the Van file you pick. Then correct differences like the MAF curve.
