    MPVI2+ A40 TCM read fail

2006 Chevy Kodiak c5500 LLY (LBZ) 5 speed allison (6th gear factory locked)

Able to read the Ecm just fine fails and times out on the TCM around 20% everytime. Been dealing with tech support for over a week. I tried to read it over bluetooth via TDN app. It read the full ECM&TCM no problem first try. But tech support says they don?t have access toTDN to see the file to verify it?s a stock file. Anyone on TDN network willing to take a look at the TCM file to verify it hasn?t been messed with. I?m convinced it?s a problem with my MVPI because I had the same issue with another 2006 2500hd same drivetrain I assumed the issue was with that truck, so I never trouble shot it any further. So before I go to the dealer to ask them to flash it for how ever much they want to charge me I?d like to see if anyone was willing to take a look.

    Thanks

Ok for the TCM if you are getting failed reads there are a couple options to get the read completed. First off pull any radio / amplifier fuse from the fuse box usually the exterior box on light duty trucks but maybe in cab on c4500 and up vehicles. After that try to read the A40 alone do not try to read ECM as well in the same go. Also the A40 is one of the harder TCM's to pull files off due to its complex systems vs the A50 /T14 TCM. If you want to send me the ECM /TCM read file I can confirm its a stock file and it has not been modified. Another thing to note is the Kodiak / Topkick uses a slightly different operating system vs the 2500-3500 trucks. Also another thing you can try is make sure the truck has a battery box / charger is on it for the read process the voltage could be unstable and cause a failed read attempt part way through. Also if you have to get creative you can pull the fuses to other vehicle systems and try to isolate the TCM alone on the CAN network so it isn't getting other module interference when you attempt to read the file. My email is [email protected] if you need some assistance, is your device a mpvi 1-3 or a RTD device? Also if you wanna grab a VCM suite log send that as well to me as well as the vehicle vin.

MPVI2+. I’ll try yanking some more fuses. Are you a TDN dealer? that’s the only read I was able to get if so I’ll definitely send it over. I’m trying to make heads or tails of why it will read through the TDN app but not VCM suite. Also I’ve never used TDN before so I’m not exactly sure how it works. Thanks for the response
