Arrow Pre-Eagle 5.7 Comp Stage 1 Cam Idle Tuning - Timing Fluctuations

I'm working on setting up the new pre-eagle 5.7 engine setup with a COMP stage 1 cam in my 2006 300c, and I've gotten it to where startup is decent and the neutral idle rpm is stable and pulls 16HG of vacuum, with AFR in the low 14's, but it is a little rough and the timing is oscillating between 8 degrees (minimum set) and 22 degrees. This is in open loop mode.

Could anyone have pointers on how to smooth out the idle a bit and get rid of the big timing fluctuation? (I'm guessing this is the cause for the roughness). I didn't have much luck improving it with the idle spark proportional and integral tables.

The files below are the base files I put together and the idle log - still need to tune everywhere except idle.

I'll be state side tomorrow, Send me a DM/PM to remind me and I'll look. , one thing you can do is tighten up MBT and Min spark tables in the RPM area you want it to idle in. Also TQ correction table can help, search around here for Comp 273 cam tunes.

Your VSS is set to 20 MPH ? (Table 44216) , if its working for you great, but Set Table 12983 to the same MPH, 10 MPH is the highest I've ever gone ....but like I said if 20 is working for go for it.
Also your MBT and Min spark table are using stock KPA limit of 105, I'd match it to your 250 value in your Part Throttle spark table.

    your spark scale starts
    416,608,800
    I'd change it to
608,768,853 and then leave the 1088 up to your max of 65XX alone and match all tables using a RPM scale to match the new scale(except WOT)
Looking at the Log , it wants to Idle at 830 , and wants 14* of timing , your Pt & MBT table @ 800/45kPa is 21* jeffro timming table.jpg and your Min Table is 8* I'd set PT 14* and leave the MBT and Min Table as is. My start spot would look like the last attachment., and then work back from there.

    Also
45542 - Spark Efficiency Inverse: the Lower % of that scale, 80.4 to 30.2 I'd tighten up to 15@ 80.4 and 20@ 30.2 and smooth the middle.

My experience with NGC3(4) has been the PCM doesn't like different Scale values, you change one change them all.

Awesome, I appreciate the help. yea it idles much better with the 14degrees minimum timing. I'll have to try out the efficiency inverse table changes as well.

The 20mph VSS is so I can have a high idle rpm, but no have it take off once it hits 3mph. So it cruises slowly well.
