    Smile 4L60e Help With Torque Management

    I have:

    Rebuild 4L60E
    Alto High Performance Clutch Pack
    Full Transgo HD2 shift kit installed (installed springs for comfy ride)
    And Corvette Servo

    Car shifts fine but there is approx 15% Throttle - 50% i think a bang noise.
    Not loud, also a little bit in 1st.

    I think it has to do something with torque management in the trans, can someone help?
    Raising or Lowering? What values?

    I like the trans to be a high life expectancy, just my regular daily driver with kids.
    Thx for sorting this out.

    This is my tune.
    (only adapted shift points) all the other stuff was left untouched. I like to eliminate the bang in 1st and 2nd with low to medium throttle. (haven't tested out high throttle since everything is new)

    thx !!

    What all did you do when installing the HD2?
    What size holes in the separator plate and what torque converter?

    Hello,

    I test drove today: It is less to almost not noticable in 1st -> 2nd.
    But from 2nd -> 3th upshift it really bangs.
    3th -> 4th is also fine.

    Thx for perfectionize my family car

    I used GM GENUINE 17803851 Remanufactured Torque converter.

    The holes drilled in separator plate:
    .093 all holes except:
    .082 for 1-2 shift which should relate to Short shift (because of Corvette Servo) (.093 = Full Race & Hi-Stall conv. mentioned in Transgo manual)
    .082 for 2-3 shift which should be ok (because a Hi-stall conv = .093 and Full race = .101 mentioned in TransGo's manual.)

    I forgot to mention one thing: The TCC Apply/Release Speed vs. TPS vs. Gear tables i also changed from stock to no lock in 2nd, 3th and 4th (near end) as recommended

    As for what i did Transgo HD2 shift kit:
    So installed the vette servo
    Band adjustment was fine in limits like stock (reused old pin and no shims) to match up
    2nd accumulator has 1 spacer which should be just a firm and easy shift 1-2nd
    The accumulator spring used in valvebody: softer spring
    for the clutch spring retainers and FWD coast spring retainers: installed everything for under5500 rpm (because this truck does not have to rev past that as it is a family car)

    update to myself and maybe others;

    Still had a slight clunking noise from 2nd to 3th gear (famous GM clunking?)
    I drove 1000kms the past month and now been playing to get this fixed.

    Slightly increasing shift points helped, and then increasing torque management by 5% over the complete 2nd gear and adding another 5% somewere half way to increase even more.
    So you have 10% tm increase in the first half of 2nd gear, and 5% increase the second half of 2nd gear.

    Shift timing 2nd gear down 5% and NO clunking, everything is butter smooth
