I can vouch for the legitimacy of these hidden parameters having a profound effect on the characteristics of shift strategy. I had been playing with governor pressure vs ttva maps for quite a long time with what I would call limited success. By that I mean, sometimes it would shift how I wanted it to, and other times it wouldn't. Kind of seemed like something was fighting against the changes I was making.
The moment I started seeing Jim's posts regarding Post Shift Accel limiters and other hidden settings, it started making sense why I couldn't find any consistency. So, when Jim started this thread, I contacted him and had him remove those limiters and tweak some other parameters, and now the changes I make to the governor pressure curve vs TTVA are consistent and predictable. It's nice to see results.
Thanks again, Jim!

Your welcome
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but the workbook link doesn’t work for me.
Anybody know where to download Jim P excel workbook?
Does this mean you paid Jim to do some changes to your transmission but that you're still able to make modifications to your engine tune and shift points without messing up what Jim did or having to bug him for a new tune every time you modify your truck?
I also don't know where to get the workbook but I contacted Jim last year to discuss tuning my transmission and it doesn't seem like he's as active as he used to be.
Now that we have a ton more parameters in our transmission tuning. I wanted to revive this thread. Wondering if anyone has found some good settings for the 48RE. One thing I am trying to understand still is how the TC lock/unlock settings work. Not comprehending what will actually happen by changing up TPS portion. What will make it unlock when throttle is released? What will make it lock sooner or later when changing TPS? These tables seem more confusing than needed. TIA.
