Anybody have experience updating operating systems? Flashing newer tunes into slightly older models?

So I have a 2011 pony package that's procharged and a block built with rods and pistons for 800hp. It's a manual and I wouldn't trade it for an automatic however I lost my leg in a motorcycle accident.

I have a lot of work done to it and it matches my 65 with the paint and pony package so it's more sentimental and fun to own than it's worth for resale and I've decided to automatic swap it.

After driving a 2014 with select-shift I decided I'm going to retrofit a 2013-2014 transmission into the 2011 so I can have that instead of just 1-2-D.

After looking into ECU/PCM hardware ID it appears to be the same ECU, just flashed with a new operating system and tune calibration.

I'm thinking if I do a write entire instead of just write calibration it should rewrite the operating system, then using a tune I read out of the 2014 I have access to I can flash in that calibration and operating system.

Obviously I have a lot of work sourcing and installing parts. Trans, trans harness, torque converter, flex plate, hardware to flex plate, probably new bellhousing bolts, shifter and cables, pedal box and deleting clutch master. I'm thinking I can get away with using my pony package gauge cluster hopefully, I prefer it to be honest.

Hoping I can post a good update soon but thought I'd share my project and get some insight from you all
