    2010 Chevy Cobalt Ecotec 2.2L LAP/VVT

    Given a 2010 Chevy Cobalt 2.2L LAP/VVT.

Was going to turn it a little compact for the local dirt track but their rules have no VVT/turbos/etc.

New to all the HPT stuff, but figured before ponying up the cash, I'd check to see if HPT can do what I want.

Can I delete VVT (and might as well delete PassLock too so I don't need a key and can make it push start).

Anything else I can/need to do for this car that HPT can do and just get it to run without all the extra ECM/PCM/BCM crap?

Not trying to win a race, just have fun on the weekends with this and get my kid into racing too.

    Thoughts?

    Zack

Same boat is right?.wish I had a boat instead of this boat anchor! I saw that post?.

Perfectly running car in all respects - might have to just turn it into a Lemons racer since I?ve already gutted it.

If HPT is worth buying to do what you say I?ll give it a shot. Just wanted to make sure it would disable all that stuff and it wouldn?t go limp on me. Just a chunk of cash to dole out and find I?m screwed in the end. (which nobody likes)

    Thanks!!!!

The only part I guess i don't understand here is how does the race inspectors know whether VVT is working or not? Seems like unplugging it would satisfy them, but it'll run like ass lol

Use the cobalt as a donor for a DF Goblin kit car.

Hah! I saw those, pretty cool, but wouldn't be too practical up here in Ohio....only a few months of use.

Interesting though....wonder why they chose the Cobalt as the V1 platform.

Because they had one and there were a lot of them made. They were making a poor man's Arial Atom.

There are a lot of them up north.
