Dealers wants to update

Got a call about a customer at a dealer with a L5D having fuel system control module issues. Dealer is reporting that there is an ECM update to correct issue, but ECM is unlocked and has been re-programmed. Is the course of action here to read the file in it now, let the dealer reprogram the update in, then write the file back in after they are done?

You cannot read any duramax from 2011 up , the read hp tuners will give you is a virtual read based off the os and segments that are in the truck and it will be a stock tune,
