MPVI 3 fried
Mistake #1. I ordered what I thought was a brp/can-am obd2 adapter on Amazon. Mistake #2. I then proceeded to plug my mpvi3 into my can am commander without verifying the pin out of said adapter. Now I have a dead mpvi3. No lights on obd2 power or USB power. I opened it up and it smells of burnt electronics. One smd transistor and a few resistors are visibly burnt and the transistor has a black skid mark around it. Anyone have any similar issues? Also I'm not worried about buying a new mpvi3 but what happens with all the credits that were on it? Do I need to re license every vehicle to the new mpvi3? I have over $1000 worth of vehicles licensed. Does anyone know if HP could repair my unit? I sent a ticket to HP last Friday but still no response.
