    2008 z06 fuel cell

Hello! I have a 2008 c6 z06, I recently removed both fuel tanks and installed a fuel cell, and inline pump. I am not running any kind of sending unit, so I was able to remove any CEL associated with the sending units, ect. I also changed the fuel capacity settings all to "0" and entered 0 into all of the tables for tank capacity and sending unit tables. I also changed the sending unit type to "none".

This worked great for 280 miles. My fuel gauge always reads full, no swevice fuel system messages or anything. Then 280 miles after this was changed via hp tuners, I get a service fuel system message on my DIC, along with the fuel guage now reading zero and a low fuel message on the DIC.

What can I do to eliminate the DIC messages? I plugged into the car to see if any codes may have been set to trigger the DIC and there were none. If the car is reflashed, then this problem goes away for another 280 miles and then I get the message again.

On the oem harness, im only using the factory Grey power wire to trigger a relay for the new fuel pump. All other wiring via the plugs has been left alone.

Are there any additional settings I can change via hp tuners to keep this from happening, or do I need to wire the remaining wires together in a certsin orientation, and or add a resister?

    I greatly appreciate any help!
    Ryan.

280 miles is nothing to laugh at.

Best guess would be a bcm or instrument cluster setting that reads no fuel level change after x number of miles as a fault. HPT may not have access to change that.

This is exactly what im thinking. Since the fuel guage hasn't moved, I believe there is some type of hard coding within the bcm that realizes the fuage hasn't moved and sets this message after xxx miles (280).

Nothing else has changed within those miles, I just drove the car the way it was and havent had any issues until the 280 mile mark.

Need a scanner that reads all modules to see for sure.
