The more I read the more confussed I get

I am currently building a '68 GMC Suburban. I have a Gen IV 6.0LS and 6L80, using wiring harness from PSI. engine cranks but that is it. I have a ECU from a 2012 Suburban. VATS has been disabled. the more I read about tuning the more confused I get. All I want for now is to get it running. I want to learn more about basic tuning, maybe delete VVT and change the cam later. The engine and ECU are not from the same vehicle ( trans. and ECU are) I have learned also since using VCM Scanner that ECU is for a 5.3. can I just get a stock 6.0 tune and flash ECU?
    Thanks for any suggestions Zeke

I'm just a hobbyist and I don't know where to find this info. at this time. You need to figure out what operating system's (OS) will work together with the TCM, ECU, engine, and transmission. If the pro's don't step in and help you out here, you may need to pay a pro to get you started.

You may want to repost your question in the Gen 4 section also to get more eyes on it.

If VATS is properly disabled you need to diagnose the no start like any other no start. Spark, injector pulse, etc. If it is a stock engine there should be no tooning required to make it start and run, beyond disabling VATS.

You should post the tune and a datalog of it trying to start. Perhaps we can see something you are not and get you on the way.

Now I am able to get engine to run for a second or two. Seems like the security system is shutting it down. I have gone into the "OS" tab an disabled VATS Patch 1 and 2., wrote to ECU.
I am still over looking some thing?

Did you do a "write entire" or "write cal"?

Are you writing entire to disable VATS?

No one can say if you are overlooking something without posting tune and log.

Needs to be attached directly to the forum. Most on here won't mess with links. Stick with your Gen 4 post. And needs a tune attached also.

I appreciate your willingness to help me out. Not sure what you mean by "attached directly to the form".

Sorry. "Forum" not "form". Hit the "go advanced" button and then the paper clip icon for attachments. We trust the forum software to filter malicious stuff better than random links.

You need to attach your .HPT and .HPL files as attachments in the "go advanced"
    tab.

    They will look like this.

The tuner file is locked. I cannot open it.

You have a 606 code which often comes with messing with throttle/pedal tables. If you did. try putting it back to stock.

Also make sure it's holding fuel pressure. It's firing.. but shutting right off. You do know you have to write entire when you turn vats off right?

i'm using A Corvette Pedal from PSI (acc-1007). I will contact them for settings
I wasn't aware that the tuner is locked. I have no idea how to unlock it.
    I did use "write entire"
