    Hot humid days!

How does everyone deal with it? I am 2 hours north of Toronto....it's gonna be 33C (91F) here tomorrow....humidex of 37c (99F)!! Today was 30c and humid as eff!! Still 24c and humidex of 30c at 10pm. My IAT is 90 to 104F...robs about 10 hp or more!

Are you just giving 'er anyways? I couldn't imagine being at the race track trying to run the qtr without driving around to get me IAT to 90F or less!! OR even street racing unless you've had significant cool down time or ice on the intake?!

Thoughts on this? I have lowered all the IAT timing pulling tables and now get much closer to the commanded timing. I also multiplied by 0.5 the burst knock tables and then moved them over a cell to the right. Burst knock was killing me too.

    I'm a 05 C6 cammed LS2.

Thermometer in my truck today was showing 112* on the interstate and our humidity down here in the south stays around 110% haha.

Big difference between summer and winter horsepower here.

Air less dense.. less power. It's just life.

91F sounds like a nice day!

I guess 91*F is hot in the frozen hinterlands of Canuck-istan, but down here on the Star Spangled Speedways 91*F is a break from the heat. Yes, lots of racers will use ice bags directly on the intake to cool it down, as well as putting ice in the intercooler tank for boosted applications. At least at a local race everyone is on equal footing battling the laws of physics. I agree, being down on power and watching for knock is not fun!

Many years back I went to a Friday night test and tune at Silver Dollar raceway in Reynolds GA, and it was 106*F air temps with standard middle GA humidity. They canceled the Saturday races because the track surface temps were too high. I often wondered what track temps were like at the dragstrip just outside Laredo, TX when air temps were 114.

On the race cars i wire up, ill always use rear Tire temp sensor and track surface temp sensor.
Its hard to get traction when track temps are over 140*
