Piston slap vs KR
Can piston slap be a cause for Knock Retard when the engine is cold/warm, and goes away when the engine is at 185F running temp? 2618 Mahle Pistons- Gapped @ 0.028

Don't know about a piston but have absolutely the same stuff - heavy kr at cold engine, decreasing throu the warm-up period, dissappearing when getting hot enough. I've been having this since I got forged and charged.
I had the engine inspected a couple of times with no issues found.
to minimise the effect of kr at cold/warm engine i bumped the LT enable temp (ecm 44698) up to 85C and have beein runing like this for 100k km already - no issue progressing/regressing.
