Help me get started

Hey guys. I have the mpvi3 and have played around on it a little bit but I?m somewhat lost as to where I should start? any tips on what I should log and look for first would be greatly appreciated!

As for the truck, the Engine is a stock 180k mile P01 5.3 with a super custom $50 amazon intake, short tube speed engineering headers, true dual 2.5? exhaust to 25? glass packs that come out in front of the rear tire.

I also just ordered an AEM 30-0300 wideband that I plan to install this weekend and run it through the egr sensor voltage input on the ecm.

my goal here is to see if I can gain any more performance out of the stock engine

My recomendation would be to make a few log all the necessay channels to calibrate your MAF with your o2 sensors. To me that is the easiest to adjust and get use to logging, graphing, adjusting the tune.
Then from there graduate to VE tuning.

Theres lots of GEN 3 tuning guides out there, along with video lessons that arent very expensive...

Make sure you donwload a copy of your stock tune file and save it somewhere.
Maybe even make a few copies.

This way you always have something to look at, compare and in some cases a way to start over.

And don't keep the copies in the same place as the original. I used to keep my tuning cable, laptop, and backup flash drives in a briefcase. I thought in the event of a laptop crash or drive failure, I would have backup files. I forgot to factor in theft to the equation. Our shop was broken into and the briefcase was one of the stolen items, so I lost the factory stock files for multiple vehicles. Luckily I only tune as a hobby, so there was no customers involved, but years later I needed the stock file for one of my vehicles and had to use an alternate source.

You can email them to yourself as an attachment then archive the email.

I thought i was hot shit when i upgraded from cdrx to DVDrx recordables lol My 8 year old girl asked me what a bluray was the other day. It took me a while to realize they dont even use disc anymore!
