    Norton quarantine VCM Editor

Anyone else having an issue with Norton anti-virus software quarantining the VCM Editor software because it thinks it is infected with "FileRepMalware"?

I downloaded the latest beta software yesterday (7/29/2025). I can't say what version because I can't open the software though.

I was able to open VCM scanner and view a data log.

I went into the Quarantine settings and told Norton to "Create an exclusion and restore". Works now. Hopefully it isn't really infected. 8-)

    A little more background info.

When installing the software I had to temporarily disable the virus software to even install the software. Looking back at the Norton activity log, the reason I had to do so is that Norton thought that the software was infected with EvoGen. I quick Google search appears to show that I am not the only one to have had this issue.

Hope this helps others having a similar issue.

In most of the reviews I have seen over the years, Norton is one of several "antivirus" softwares that are nearly as bad as actually having viruses in terms of wasting your computer resources or just being paid adware themselves.
