When in 4low on every 6r140 in a 6.7 that I have seen they start in 2nd gear, what is changed to make it do this ? I cant seem to find how its done as I want to make it start in 3rd gear in 4 low so I can put the truck in drive while starting in 3rd gear for sled pulling and alow it to shift up on its own.
I just looked at my stock trans file and the 4x4L shift table has 1-2 shift set as -5 down the whole table. Maybe do the same for the 2-3 shift table (set to all -5) and try it out.

Yep that?s what mine looks like, but my 1->2 isn?t 300 like yours, it starts at 340 and goes to 1000, but I think your onto it, I will set both 1->2 and 2->3 to 300 and see what it does.Screenshot 2025-07-31 211546.png

I don't think your 4X4L table is stock. I looked at 2017, 2018 and 2019 stock files and they all look like this. 6th gear is locked out of 4-low.

The truck is tuned so they must have changed it but what I didn?t get was why it still was starting in 2nd with the table looking just like the normal table.
Update, tried 250 in the first two rows and still starts in 2nd gear, Mabye they need to be negative so it thinks it cannot use those gears.
I bet it's coded and only accessible with user defined parameters in the binaries. That's above my skill level. You may have to set the downshift tables lower as well. ChatGPT says set the 1-2, 2-3 and 3-2, 2-1 to zero or "unattainably low numbers"
You could also submit a ticket and see if the HPT engineers know of a table for each drive mode vs starting gear.
