    MPVI interface burnt

Was cleaning up my car last night ran the OBDII cable behind the dash and in to the glove box. Connected the MPVI interface. Then my 5 year old started yelling so I left it for like 5 minutes and when I came back the car was FILLED with smoke! the OBDII and HPtuners box were SMOKING hot and all melted. It drained the battery and don't know what other damage it caused behind the dash! Why didn't this blow a fuse? Is the OBDII port not fused? Can I get the interface and cable replaced?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

That is not good at all.

Yea, the obd port is fused and should have tripped it.

Send an e-mail to support with your info, serial #, link to this post, etc...

Support has got'en back to me.
Even though they say it was another power source grounding on the MVPI, I think I pluged the cable in backwards.
In my case, I think the board was still ok cause it would still work on my computer, it needed a new case and plug. So it was $65 for the repair.
I'm happy with the service so far and look forward to getting my HPTuners back!
