    Tuning SD

Okay on the topic of SD tuning. How are we supposed to tune the VE above 4000 RPM on these ecms? I saw in the GEN 4 forums that theirs is all sorts of jacked up with zones etc but that was the E36 and E67 ecm, and the E40 i guess (from an 05 corvette) doesn't have the same features as the e36/67 and sd tuning on those is about impossible w/o a calculus degree. i thought our ecms were a 40 or a 36? any help on this would be appreciated.

looking at an 06 or 07 corvette tune, it appears as though they have a dynamic airflow tab, that the 05 redlines do not. and from reading the ls2 part of the forum, in order for them to get the ve to be tunable up above 4krpm, they have to adjust the limit. otherwise it switches to maf. so whats the story here? are the LSJ motors supposed to have this but the tables just havent been written yet?

thansk for your help and cooperation.

your pcm is not even remotely similar to a 06+ vette's pcm
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

well if your logging ve. it stops at 4000 rpm. will read nothing higher. thats why im saying something is odd. i went through every table last night, and couldnt find anything that would raise it. also was reading the gen4 forums, and the ls2 guys their ve stops at 4000 rpm even though the table continues further. thats why i thought it might be similar. what ecm do we have ?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question/issue here...but I've got SD logs with hits in the cells above 4k...albeit, not as many as the lower RPMs, but they're there.

If the tune you posted is the tune you're trying to SD tune on, then that's your problem...I have to compare my two tunes real quick, and I'll post what your settings should be to ensure you get the car into SD mode.

Engine > Fuel Control > Fuel Cutoff > Deceleration Fuel Cutoff DFCO Enable Normal
    > Enable Temp: 493*
    > Disable Temp: -40*
    > Enable RPM: 7500
    > Disable RPM: 7500

Engine > Fuel Control > OL & CL > Open Loop
    > Gas (Gear): Set EVERY cell to 1.00
    > Gas (P/N): Set EVERY cell to 1.00

Engine > Fuel Control > OL & CL > Closed Loop; Closed Loop Enable
    > ECT vs Startup ECT: Max EVERY cell out @ 306
    > O2 Readiness ECT: Max EVERY cell out @ 493

Engine > Fuel Control > OL & CL > Long Term Fuel Trims; LTFT Enable
    > Min ECT: 493*
    > Max ECT: -40*

Engine > Fuel Control > Power Enrich > Power Enrichment
    > EQ Ratio vs. RPM: Set EVERY cell to 1.250

Engine Diagnostics > Airflow > MAF Sensor

    Engine Dianostics > DTCs

P0102: set Error Mode to 0
P0103: set Error Mode to 0

Think I got everything...try those settings, and let us know how it works out - those are the ALL the changes I made to my DD tune in order to do SD tuning.

okay, back on this topic if you were logging commanded vs actual error %, you would make the changes in the VE table right? and in making those changes, you would hence forth be 'aligning' your ve table to be spot on with the PE table correct? so if you have your ve spot on to like 1 or 2 % error, and then drop the hammer when you go into PE your reading exactly commanded?

How about copying the High Oct. spark table to the Low Oct. spark table?
    COT, and disabling rear O2?
    for SD Tuning purposes only?

Your right - I'm catless, so the COT/rear O2 stuff had already been done - I totally forgot about the octane tables. Good catch.

Im pretty sure the high octane table is still in effect even while in SD with your pcm.

The computer does still use both tables, I personally just have both tables set the same while I tune then I just subtract 6 on the low just to be safe with bad gas.

Now what is his problem? his scanner not reading above 4k? Does your scanner histo setup to read higher, if it only goes to 4k then you must setup a histo to read t 6800. Also make sure your not reading LTFT/STFT bank 2's, I guess we reeally need to see a scan file to know what you mean by you can't read higher then 4k. Good luck
