    F.A.S.T. Wideband

I ended up getting the dual sensor setup with 12ft cables. I've seen a couple of posts on interfacing it with HPTuners but I was wondering how that could be done with a stand alone unit.

    Acouple of questions:

    1. Is it best to use the stock O2's in their original places and add additional O2 bungs on the collectors or pull the stock O2's out and install the WB's?

"Beyond the innovative dual sensor capability, the new FAST™ Dual Sensor Air/Fuel Meter delivers several enhanced capabilities, in the easiest to use format of any digital air/fuel meter ever developed. One such capability is built-in data logging capability that plays back logged information on the lighted, full graphical display screen, unlike other units that require downloading to a computer. Additional standard features include outputs for external data loggers and digital gauges, and a narrow-band simulator function that allows you to feed your engine’s computer a factory signal while using the performance-oriented wide-band sensor for air/fuel measurement and adjustments."

    2. Can the output of this unit be used with the HPTuners scanner like stated above?

I don't know crap about wideband tuning so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can the F.A.S.T. be hooked up without an MPVI Pro or should I purchase one?

Nevermind here, a little reading took me a long way. I found my answers through the search option. I'll probably be asking some questions once it's setup though.

So have you learned anything good about the FAST WB? Seems like a nice unit but everything you read about some of these dual channels is vague. If I wanted a LC1 LM1 info is abundant.

I had to go to efilive to find how many people are using them because not too many here. Finally I called F.A.S.T. and decided to try it because it was different and I was hoping to help out members here with it. I had to order the MPVI because I had the standard interface. I sure hope to receive it this week because all I know is what I've talked talked about with F.A.S.T. engineering. I will post more as soon as I get my new hardware. As far as the LM1 or LC1 goes, your right, there's plenty of info on them.

Cool let me know how it turns out. Im set on HPT with the pro interface but am completely undecided on a WB. I dont want to buy anything until I know its gonna work with HPT. Have you read anywhere how accurate the fast is? Also how do you hook up the O2's that come with the unit? Do you have to splice connectors or can they ship it with the proper connections?

    Thanks

Here's a video that explains most of it. It powers off your cigarette lighter and has all of the cables and connectors you need including the O2 bungs to weld into your exhaust. This is the one I bought:

Thanks for the vid but unfortunately Im doomed to dial up for now where I live. I wouldnt see it for days. I read an article from a ford site somewhere about it. My main concern is making sure it tells the PCM that its gettin a narrowband signal from both banks as I am gonna run the WB's as primarys so I dont have to have any shop touch my car or mess up my pretty kooks. Theres not much room in there with my catted Y pipe.

That's their dyno software. The outputs on the dual AFR meter can be connected to any dyno software or used with and E I/O input for data logging. I'v ebeen playing with the meter plugged into the lighter and it's really easy to use and record data. I feel like a kid a Christmas time waiting for my MPVI to get here so I can really play!! I'm sure I'll be asking alot of questions to the guru's once I start logging.

Is there short supply of these MPVI modules? I see on the forums alot of people "waiting" for their devices. I ordered mine just a few weeks ago. I called HpTuners sales department, they reviewed what distributors had what stock, got me in touch with a distributor, I paid the distributor via PayPal and had my MPVI the very next morning after ordering it.

Does the fast have a open air calibration? Does it auto calibrate? I read on the site saying it performs its own calibrations but doesnt say how it achieves this.

    Thanks again,

    Erik
