    TCC Locking in 1st ??

    All,
I have a stock, recently rebuilt, 4L60e and I have used the Bluecat tool to apply changes with the hopes of extending this ol girls life. I also had a little input on some other things in an effort to dial it in (Force Motor, Shift pres, Timing) and the truck seems to be shifting good, I have the feel I like, but I have noticed that the TCC is locking in 1st gear. Looking over the table I have it maxed speed through 2nd so it should not apply until 3rd but there it is.
I am sure I am missing something.
    Thanks

If you add these 4 channels you would figure out that it is probably not locked in 1st. Pretty sure the 4l60e is incapable of first gear lockup?

    Thanks.
I believe , from what I have read having it in 3rd and fourth is best on the 4L60.

    Maybe someone can correct me.

I do believe I would put this on the back burner until the other substantial problems are sorted, not everyone here keeps up with every thread and unmentioned potential other issues.

Totally understand. This is actually my daily driver, different truck all together.
This one is about done which is why I went back to my other truck. Just ticking projects off the list. ha

Your converter clutch is commanded and is functioning as it should. It only commands it to lock in 4th and that's what it does. You are missing one PID in there that is crucial and that is the TCC Enable solenoid command. With HP Tuners it is a bit tricky to get hat PID they usually have it listed as TCC mode. But anyway nothing to worry about at all, it does not lock in first gear, all is workign great lock-up wise assuming you only want it to come on in 4th and you want it to have zero slip when it does.

Awesome, thank you for taking a look. I am not entirely sure of the "best" way to set up the 4l60 to live its best life. This was a recommendation from another trusted user.
Any thoughts , comments, suggestions? I know I have read that locking in 3rd may be better for the 60

Not much you can do on the computer side to help a 4L60E, it is not like a modern design clutch to clutch shifting transmission. If you want to make it last longer or handle more torque, you are much better off modifying the transmission itself.
