    Transmission Problems

hello everyone, I've had the problem for a long time that the gearbox shifts extremely hard from 2nd to 3rd gear.

1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th gear very soft. does it have something to do with the pressure? can it be manipulated with HP tuners?

    gearbox is a 4l60e. from Corvette c5

Nobody can help unless you include your tune and a log.

Here's a channel config file you can use so that your log includes all the transmsision parameters needed. 4L60E.Channels.xml

The log you sent did not include the parameters we need so you'll have to take another one.

First thing you need to do is to copy the file to your laptops in: Documents\HP Tuners\VCM Scanner\Channel Configs

Then here's a link to the explanation on how to go about saving and loading channel configuration files:
    https://support.hptuners.com/support...-configuration

Follow the instructions on there to load the file I sent that you saved in the folder and then all the parameters needed will show up and you can then go for a drive and log what we need.

Yes you did, that's what I needed. So command wise all is good, the issue is in the transmission itself. It is somewhat of an odd problem because it is hard to get a real hard 2-3 shift on those even when you try to do it on purpose. You can bring it to a transmsision shop to have them figure out what's wrong in there, or if you want to try and do some diagnostic yourself the first thing to do is to put a pressure gauge on the line pressure port and see what you have. Since the 1-2 is fine I doubt it will be a main line pressure issue but you have to eliminate that first. If line is normal then it is going to be in the valve body most likely. Someone probably went crazy in there enlarging the 2-3 feed orifice in the separator plate.

This forum has the ability to host its own files as attachments, there is no need to post your stuff on some external 'whatever.io' bullshit site.

*.io is always a marker of above-boardness. Always.
