    2014 camaro ss tune request

Okay so I may get skewered for asking this, but I am a newbie to HP tuners, and I have a bone stock 2014 6.2 Camaro SS engine with standard trans that we have swapped into a 67 Chevelle. Problem is I removed the VATS and have confirmed spark at the plugs, but the motor will not fire up. It tries but just for a split second. I assume the injectors aren't firing if I had to guess since I can manually squirt fuel into the throttle body, and it will fire up. hopefully I am not out of line in asking but can someone look at my file and tell me what I've done wrong? I only deleted the VATS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you do a write entire or write calibration after the VATS delete. You need write entire.
A standard approach will give you standard results.

I think there are some starter dtc’s that need to be changed also?

Sounds like the VATS isn't really off. Most likely reason is a "write entire" wasn't done, only a "write calibration".

Try this, Do a write entire. There are some starter checks/ clutch checks that need to be turned off.

So even though I see the 'brick' warning, I should write entire? I will do that but the flashing red warning made me a tad nervous being a newby at this. thanks for the advice!

Alvin, so did you modify the tune I attached? If so and it works, I will be indebted to you sir. As I have stated up front, I am new at this and trudging my way through the online courses offered but I've found the best way I learn is by screwing something up and I learn not to do that again. I hope to avoid that approach in this skillset.

If you float your mouse over the PID you want or need to change, in this case VATS enable/disable, you'll get a brief description at the bottom, circled in red. It tells you to do a write entire.

Yes, You should be safe doing a write entire. No other choice anyway.

Oh, sure, if it only said what it meant. Instead of VATS Enable/Disable, it's VATS Patch Enable/Disable (if the patch is applied, does that turn VATS on or off?!). Always makes my brain hurt trying to figure out who thought using that language was a good choice - and how it could still be like that after however many revisions.

Alvin, at the risk of pushing my luck here, I loaded your file and it would start and run a bit longer now but will not continue to run. I will say the 02 sensors are not yet in the exhaust outlet, and would that cause it to die immediately? I would think it would run, albeit poorly, without the sensors? THey are connected to the harness though. Any other suggestions? again, you have no idea how much I appreciate your assistance. I can of course pay you for a file if you would like me to.

I attached the logfile while attempting to start it just in case.

Unplug the sensors if they aren't in the exhaust.

Include a log of it running but your likely going to need to start tuning this. Finish the build too. The sensors should be in the exhaust. check fuel pressure etc.

This is problem number 1. Need to get the battery fully charged.

Also, depending on where the MAF is located, it may need a considerable amount of recalibration just so it'll run. A quick test would be to move it, most likely closer to the throttle body.

I saw that but to me it looks like the scanner interpolating to zero as the log stopped/ failed whatever.

I can try to grab another log file. As I said I am at the point of paying someone to create the file so I can load it. To me it shouldn't be too much file creation as it's a bone stock LS3 with a standard transmission. Were using a PSI harness so I don't suspect any harness issues but one never knows. Would you be interested in building a file for this?

You always have to suspect a conversion harness, no matter who's it is. I wouldn't use one that I didn't do a complete pin out check prior to installing.

Fair enough. I've used PSI multiple times and to date have not had an issue but there's always a first.
