    have a friend w/ a GTP that has a problem into 3rd

He has quite ab it of KR but this isnt what im trying to address right now. When hes WOT and the car shifts from 2nd to 3rd the car will not accelerate anymore. I have logged the input and output shaft RPMS and also current gear in hp tuners. Can anyone offer some assistance here? Im not an automatic trans guy.

check it out if you could:

looks like the tranny is slipping in 2nd gear...id get that tranny looked at...when your mph drops when your at wot thats not a good sign
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

its actually in 3rd gear the problem starts. The rpms arent climbing so the trans isnt slipping. It just bogs.

looks like the boost control valve is opening. See MAP trace below.

1.5 will allow you to control this, and also allow you to scale the chart axis to see the MAP problem like i did below...

Also, try logging Boost Control Solenoid % under Engine, Airflow.

if this was the case, wouldnt the rpms at least climb at WOT on motor alone somewhat? Any way we can verify the boost control valve is the issue? Not sure why this would only happen going into 3rd unless the computer controls that as well and has been changed by his tuner. That explains alot though because i was looking at the graph and it was still at the top but i guess i was out of the scale..

the boost valve is PCM controlled and is sort of timer based. I doubt his tuner would have changed it cos it's not available until 1.5

Try logging Boost Control Solenoid % under Engine, Airflow. If it shows 0% then it is open.

I will add my post here since it is more active

what changes have been made? It looks like it might be engine related because the rpms are going down.. The MAF seems to support this. Could be SC belt slip.

if the belt were slipping slightly wouldnt you just see less accelleration though not actually slowing down at 100% tps though?
