phil, i'm just a factory worker and part time air guard avionics tech. i want to eventually do an engine swap for one or more of my fieros and want to try and understand as much as possible since most of the popular swaps are newer obd2 engines.
i'll just be a watcher/reader and occassionaly ask a dumb question. i'll be around but don't be surprised (maybe be thankful. it could become "aw jeez, here comes this pinhead with another dumb question" if my name dosen't pop up much.

Hey all, my names Lou. I live in Windsor, Ontario. I use to work in a tool and mold shop as a machinist and Cad/Cam designer. I spent 7 years in that trade and the whole time in that trade I was working for my fathers heavy industrial diesel repair business (mechanics). I've been doing this on and off for at least 15 years. Now I've reached the ripe old age of 25 and going for my goal, and that is to be a cop. I know, I know ( ASSS HOLEE ) right, naww. Not me, I'm reallty calm and always willing to here things and be the mediator. Anyway. I have a 1995 2.3L Cav. that will be turbocharged in or aroung the winter time. My name is Loyde. I am in Dallas Texas and do custom engine installs in Pontiac Fieros. Most are going with the OBDII engines these days and I would like to tune to customer satisfaction on the engines with mods like Intercoolers and cams.
My background is hardware engineer for 14 years with Apples and X86 based machines. 20 years as mechanic, 18 years racecar driver, and still learning everyday.
I have an AS in EE, MCSE, Master ASE, and other certifications.
I installed Haltech F7 EFI systems on GSXR engines in the mid 90's, then then designed my own throttle bodies in the late 90's.
I can use tunercat with the 170 ECM's and hope that something becomes available for the 3800SC PCM's soon.
I have 40 Fieros on site, so feel free to ask and questions about engine installs.

My name is Mike Pitts. I wrote the EPROM Tweaker for the 86-87 Buick GN back in the day. Later, I reversed the 8253 PCM ('93 Bravada) and various other embedded systems as well.
Now I have a 2000 Pontiac GTP and it's driving me nuts that I can't alter the program...yet! ;-)

I've been into efi, reprograming 165's 730's 747.ect ect since 94. I am very fluent in embedded prog c + ect.
Modify allot of 747 and 730/749 code, build memcals ..done allot of tuning on may types and combo's of engines,...build my own TB, injection systems..

Because at this time next year I'm hoping to have a nice little turbo sitting on the backside of my engine bay And, I only want to do it the right way, which is using the stock computer system. Hi, I'm Chuck from NJ. I have a 70 SS 396 NOVA clone with a TH400 4:10 12 bolt running low 12's all day long, a 65 Nova race car under constrution full chassis, LS-7, TH400, 4500 S/S, 5:00 9in should run low 9's, and my 97 Camaro Z28 OBDII car my best time is 13.4 @102 with a K&N FIPK, Cat-back, 2800 S/S, 3.73's. Not too shabby for a 70,000mi car w/ factory plugs. I have plenty of mechanical know how, and a pretty good understanding of how the PCM works, but I lack any programming experince. I use ATAP V2.03 and the OBDII editor, and I just purchased the HS-3000 last week so we'll where that will take me.

hi im sean. im a deidcated nut case for anything that burns fuel. i have a 2 stroke push mower tha mkes enough HP to cut donw most small trees. im always looking for and edge and before finding DIY-EFI was using aftermarket systems. no more. i fell in love with GM's stuff its easily adapateble and fun to tune.
if you have any zainy hairbrained ideas give them a go by me ill see what i can think up. thats what i am a thinker yeah.

I'm an Electronics Technician for the US Navy and I deal mostly in Satellite Communications & SHF systems, but have been known to get my hands dirty with everything electronics. I'm studying to become a computer engineer in the free time I have with distance learning @ ODU. I own a 98 3.8 Camaro which is the "lost year" for OBD programming in F-bodys (or at least the V6 versions...).
I'm not knowledgeable in any PC language that would be of any use here. I'll probably just lurk until I feel I know what I'm talking about then start talking asking questions. Digital circuitry isn't hard, just test the patience...

My name is Erik, and I live in a Detroit suburb. I work for one of the big US OEM spinoff suppliers (gee, that narrows it down to two companies doesn't it?) as an air conditioning engineer. I'm a mechanical engineer, but my job and my interest increasingly turns electrical, and I'm pretty well versed in basic electronics. I'm working on some projects for which I need to gather vehicle information, run some calculations (using Labview RealTime), and control some prototype hardware. I use some good high end data acquisition equipment, but I also need to know what the pcm knows.
I'm also a big fan of just knowing how to do stuff. I'd like to build and tinker with either a rally car or an autocross car (when I can afford it), and I need to start learning!
I'm pretty much a jack of all trades (wrench turning, data acquisition, computers, etc.), but the master of only A/C. I'm one of the "answer" guys on A/C bbs, so I think I have enough good karma built up to be one of the annoying "newbie" guys here.
Hi all. Though I've been hacking PCM on and off for fun since 1992, I only recently stumbled across this place. Name is Mike Palmer and I was one of the developers of the original "Turbolink" back in 1994, a PC-based scanner system used by Buick GN owners.
My first PCM work was with the GMP4 from a 1988 Cavalier Z24 (loved that PCM) and more recently I've done some tuning on the Mazda MECS-II system in my current car, a 1994 Ford Probe GT and have also dabbled into the workings of the OBD-II PCM from a 1996 Mazda MX-3 GS (1.8L V6). The Probe will soon be sold for a newer car, likely an EEC-V-equipped 2002 Mustang GT (best candidate right now...) and what do I find myself doing even before getting the car? ... Looking for PCM resources ;D
I'm a medical electronics designer and regulatory guy by day, clandestine geek by night. In my spare time I tune PROMs for PGT owners and tool around with geeky electronics projects. For the longest time I had a website up that was "Probe specific" but now that the PGT is being readied for sale/trade, I'll likely be re-doing the site for the newer car and electronics stuff.
