    Do I need 00, or 02?

I have a 2000 Silverado with a 2002 PCM. Do I need to get HPtuners for 00, or 02? Thanks

If you are going to replace the 2000 ECM with the 2002, then all you need is 2002 support. Only when you want to reflash the 2000 ECM to newer 2002 calibrations are you required to have support for both 2000 and 2002.

Why are you replacing your 2000 ECM with a 2002? It would have been cheaper to just reflash it with a 2002 BIN file, the ECM are identical.

The 99-00 PCM is different than the 01-02
It made a huge difference in my truck.

It is only the program that is different, the parameters that are coded into the BIN. This can be chaged by a simple reflash to a newer BIN file. The ECMs are identical. You noticed the difference from the program updates (software), not the ECM (hardware) swap.

Well I am sure you know alot more about PCM's and tunning than I do. I have only been doing it for a month or so. I am not trying to get into a pissing match with anyone either ;D

Based on personal exp, I respectfully disagree with you. The only thing these pcm's have in common is the shape and color. They have diff service and hardware numbers, there not even made by the same company. I agree the software is the key to making it run better and curing the false KR. But I could not find a tuner shop anywhere who would take my money to flash a 99 pcm to 01-02 program.

JMO if you have support for bolth years it will take but is not recomended.

the 99-00 and 01-02 pcms are very much in fact different, the 01-02 has a different part # and service #, and also has a faster processor and more memory.

Is this just the V8's or would the hardware of a 01' 02' V6 pcm be different than the pcm of a '00 f-body?

I hope others will chime in on this one as well. But yes The 01-02 service code 411 PCM is a generic pcm used on all GM vehicles 01-02

I can only speak from exp. But this was my cure to false KR I also feelt a real difference in the butt dyno as well. For my truck the only thing i had to change was the injectors table to match my smaller injectors.

    Poof no more KR ;D
