    This thread explains PCA pressure.

    https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...eter-questions

"there is an option to cal the pressure tables as line pressure or as PCA pressures. ie. you can cal the tables to already take into account the characteristic offset & gain of the setup. This gain is 2.045 which explains why the pressures in the tables are double what you are seeing in the scanner.

the TCM divides the pressures by the gain value to get PCA pressure, which is what is displayed in the scanner. "

Thanks grandam, I have read that. PCS 1 with the 2.045 gain applied still does not match up with what I should be seeing. TCC adapts are disabled. Is there something else I'm missing?

As an example, if we look at this log and tune screen shot, the table doesn't really match. (And on a side note, why does the scanner miss cells when I zoom data only? Happens all the time. I have no filters enabled)

Hey guys, I am working on a 2014 Silverado with the dreaded 24270599 TCM OS. What's the easiest way to get the OS I need to eliminate the converter flare at lock up? Thanks!

Would love to know how to get the correct OS if you can shed some light on this.

    Thanks

Could this work with a 16 silverado with PTC triple disc?

Another person fitting a surging lockup on a 2012 Caprice. Going to try disabling the adapts and maxing things once again. 24256125 OS. On page 1 someone advised to do a write entire with OS 24256025 and looks like it was done without issue?

I have a 2014 Caprice that works PERFECT with OS 24267577. How can we determine what OS are compatible with what TCMS?

I have the 599 OS and while the regulator/offset for the TCC do not seem to do anything the Desired Pressure Table does, for those who might have this box. What I did was copy the right side of the table and shift it left 5 columns, then set any values less than 45 to 45 to get a minimum lockup pressure of 45. Seems to bee working pretty well as the TCC locks up when commanded and holds pretty tight. There's some momentary slippage with RPM changes, around 150 rpm, but you could probably raise the pressure a bit higher to get rid of even that. Curious if anyone can explain exactly what the pressure values in the table correlate to, i.e. exactly what does it mean to be in the top right or bottom left of the table--when will those pressures be applied?

Just did the write entire with the Camaro file on my 2012 Holden SS without having to licence the file you just need to remove your trans segment from your tune then add the Camaro controller to your tune and you can flash without licensing it!

I very rarely comment or post, and have been referring to this forum for years to solve various tuning issues. However, I had to leave a comment to validate that this does in fact work. I had a 2012 Caprice with the exact same issues, and was seeing large amounts of slip at cruise when lockup should have happened. I thought it was related to the large cam I had in the car, but after tuning myself in circles I leaned towards there being a problem with lockup. For those looking for a concise solution, simply open your tune file, hit Cntl+D to open the Tune Details, then remove the TCM from the controllers tab. Then, use Tre-Cool's file he provided in #4 to add a controller, then flash your new file to the car. Make sure you write entire when you flash. I didn't change anything else in the TCM parameters. I just wrote entire, then drove the car, and for the first time my RPM stayed consistent at cruise. I'm posting this to hopefully increase SEO visibility. Thanks to everyone who helped sleuth this out.

For my own knowledge, the dropdown that was added ("Use regulator settings) - would enabling that have done the same thing as flashing the other OS? Does anyone have more technical details on what exactly the problem is/was? Sorry to necro, I just am seeking to understand what exactly went wrong here.

yeah, the use regulator settings should be all thats needed. however there are other tables for lockup control that are not mapped in the software., well there are lots actually, but the ones shown seem to cover most of what people need.

Just wanted to post up and say I was having the same TCC lockup issues with my 2011 caprice, and following L5hunter's instructions to flash Tre-Cool's tune solved the problem. I'm pretty new to all of this tuning stuff and this is the kind of thing I'd have never been able to figure out on my own. This forum has been a huge help, I really appreciate everyone being willing to offer up their help and experience, especially on this topic - thank you all!

if you have OS24270599 or just missing the "use regulator gain" dropdown, you do not need to replace your OS to achieve full lock. long story short the problem the whole time was simply over thinking it. i played around with each table and was about ready to re install my factory TC and trash my Circle d triple disk. finally everything clicked

gain/offset left factory had better engagement but was far to harsh but 90/1.5 to soft and shuddered.

testing my theory of dividing offset/gain i found factory settings where creating to high of pressure for the clutch engagement making the shifts to hard. settling on 90/1.5 and moving on i started experienting with apply ramp max pressure and desired table.

Next thing i focosed on was gettting the engagement rate correct so i multiplied the entire apply ramp table by 1.5 to Slow the lock up. i then shifted the desired pressure table over a few columns and interpolated starting at 20psi i logged and found where i was riding at cruising speed in the table repeating the copy/shift/paste slowly raising my pressure a few at a time focusing on the cruising area. i can now achieve full lock and cruise with 0 slip, still have a little left to do on Wot but the fact its finally coming together has me ccelebrating. the secret is to NOT jack the table way up. dont even touch the entire table. make small adjustments only in the area you need it and only as high as needed. Sending 90psi full time to the back of the crank does no good for anyone.

let your adaptives work for you. dont disable them. even the tcc adapt. still a work in progress but getting closer. 2014 Silverado LT CCSB 4x4 L83 6L80 6.5" lift on 34.1" tires with 3.08 gears. That doesnt make sense. raise values in apply ramp to slow lockup up? As it gets closer to 0 slip the values fall so THAT should be slow ramp??

According to original poster this cant be right. His had 6025 OS, and flashing in a Camaro 6125 OS fixed issue, and they arent on the same line

I've learnt a lot in the last couple of years playing around. so my definition on what is compatible vs what actually works is different to the efilive compatibility list. Paul likely err'd on the cautious side on that list.

I generally update a bunch of 2009.5-2010 ecm/tcm's to a later 2012 combination like 12639270/24256125 because i have added a lot of undefined parameters for them, in fact this ecu os will work just fine with tcm os 24256025.

I believe in the early days the compatibility list for the TCM's was based around the early vs late TCM controllers & in stock form you cannot flash a late model OS to an early tcm & vis a vis.

For example as i deal mainly with commodores from 2006 to 2017, i managed to convert a early 2006 e38/t42 controller to e38/t43 that i could make work with multiple tcm operating systems by adjusting the CAN data settings in the ecu\tcm.
    https://www.torqueup.net/2024/06/11/...y-integration/

I've even managed to get my earlier 2002 VY ute (think early 03/04 GTO LS1) that also has a e38/t43 combination have full factory ac control/reverse lights working with the use of the 05 can based PIM module. GM did change some of the CAN id's over the years, but luckily a lot of the earlier stuff carried over for a while.

So the 14 silverados you cannot adjust the regulator gain or offset basically? I have a new higher stall converter that doesnt want to lock, no matter what the regulator and offset are set at. So the desired pressure is the way to fix this? Going to have to try this.
