Ok, here is a crazy yet usefull request

    Ok, here is an example

I have a guy who is not too computer literate.. i helped him made a tune (with ls1 edit boooooo).. but we used hp tuners for all the loging (hurrah).. he is acctualygunan buy it soon.. he is kidna wating on the "efi live style" editing features..

anyway he has a nitrous car.. and wants an NA and nitorus tune.. and thats pretty much it..

however he has a hard time navigating file and moving them around on computers.. loading and unloading tunes.. ect ect..

plus.. its a pita to laod and unlaod tunes at the track.. its jsut one more thing to worry about.. laptop batteries ect..

    soo.

    what i was thinking..

is make small programmable stand alone boxes (kinda like a hypertech/preditor) that you cna upload a few tunes too..

that way you dont have to mess with a laptop at the track.. jsut laod up your nitrous tune from a list.. and you are ready to go..

again.. dont really think this is an "essential" more of a convinence thing..

not to mention i bet that palces like TSP and other big mail order tuners would love them.. no more overniht shipping and BS.. jsut make the tune.. throe it on one of the tune swapping boxes.. mail it out..

    done..

it has a few reasonable applications..

Once they have support for PDA's, you can use a PDA to do what you just said.

Its amazing how so many ideas users post on this forum mimic internal conversations we have.

A feature that makes things real easy now is the file history. Every time I tune my car I simply click my file name under the file box and then hit yes. I modify my tune so often its always in the top 5.

I love that feature.. but again.. to complex for this guy.. i am talking box with 2 butons.. no laptop..

one to flip though the tunes on it.. and one to load it..

Again I bet TSP would love it.. get caspers crackin' on it

Buy a spare PCM, and it becomes a screwdriver (OK,
nut-driver) job. Of course you would lose fuel trims,
but if the tune is good trims don't have much work to
    do.

And used PCMs are cheaper than new PDAs....

The TwEECer that the Ford guys use has this "box" feature but the system works as a piggyback since it's plugged in between the PCM and the harness.
