Granatelli mass airflow sensor
Is the Granatelli mass airflow sensor compatible with HPTuners software?
I know that it can be programed itself, with their "handheld"
so my question is, will it cause a conflict of any kind?

Re: Granatelli mass airflow sensor
There's not a conflict, the GMAF is just not properly
calibrated when you use a stock table, they provide
no realistic cal info of their own, and I have yet to see
anyone who's dialed it in. But you could. I would
recommend starting with a screened stock unit and
determine your car's MAF:MAP*RPM curve and use
that to arrive at the proper GMAF table.
The GMAF handheld I've seen does not program the
MAF, it's a rebranded Predator (presumably with some
tweakage but perhaps not) for the bent MAF cal.
Granatelli does offer a MAF you can program but it's
big bucks and I haven't seen anyone who says they
use it.
The benefits the GMAF gives you, by faking lower-than-
real airflow input, you can get for yourself on the up-and-up
(set your own spark advance and power enrichment, and
have the benefits of realistic calibration as well (sensible
fuel trims, an automatic that doesn't slip, and like that).

Re: Granatelli mass airflow sensor
I've got a granatelli and havent done any tweaking on my maf table. I did just a bit on my VE table but my fuel trims are near perfect. Maybe I just got lucky though. It would be interesting to find out if the table needs to be different than stock.

Re: Granatelli mass airflow sensor
you may have adjusted a 'correct' VE table to compensate for an 'incorrect' MAF signal!?
I could never keep my fuel trims consistant when I adjusted the VE table. As soon as I worked on the MAF table the fuel trims fell in line and stayed that way.

Re: Granatelli mass airflow sensor
I have a GMAF and my fuel trims were always between 0 and -2 at cruising before the cam. Never touched the VE or MAF tables. After cam the trims are way negative, but nothing a little VE moddin' won't take care of.
