    EIO and wideband

I need the ability to tune with a wideband. I have the HP Tuners and the EIO, can I hook the EIO up to my rear O2 sensor? I have my rear O2 codes deleted from the PCM so all it is doing is setting there - can this work? How do I do it and where do I start?? TIA

The wideband must be installed before the CATS.

Hypothetically speaking - if one gutted the CAT, does the rule of the wideband being installed before the CAT still apply???

So - can I use my un used rear O2 sensor as a wideband then or would I have to buy a specific device for that???

The stock O2 sensors in the cars are narrow band o2's.. You would still need to purchase an aftermarket wide band O2 kit.

Narrow band O2's are great at reading 14.7 but become less accurate as you stray away from that #. That is where the power of the wideband O2 comes into play.

you may not want it that far back either..

I dont know how you are setup..

but you want it right after your y-pipe so you will get info from both banks.. you wnat to keep wideband sensors pretty far upstream so they heat up faster on cold days and stay accurate..

i am definatly thinking I want a dual wideband setup next

    Quick question semi related...

how do you get a wideband to interface with hpt?

I understand how it works and the whole setup but I have heard that the LC-1 wideband setup can be used to interface with hptuners. how does it connect with it?

    Re: EIO and wideband

1 input wire of EIO and the common ground wire... the LC1 (or any wideband kit w/external outputs) gives HP Tuners 0 to 5 volts... since most are linear, you can correlate what 2.50 volts , 2.60 volts, etc... is

Eagleeye, see my response on clubgp. It contains all the info for using a PLX to replace your stock narrowband w/ wideband using the simulated NB output for the PCM and the WB for HPtuners.

how do you know it was reading accurately? At wot my before/after cat #'s were a full point off
    before-10.8:1
    after-11.8:1

that was in my gtp though...stock cat.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
