DTC's when tuned from another program

I've recently had my car tuned by someone else, using a different software package on my 98 Grand Prix.
I downloaded the bin onto my laptop twice and it's coming up with the same results.

    I can't view - "edit/engine diagnostics/DTC's" properly.
The only DTC that shows up there is #283.

I have sent this .bin to the tuner and he's able to see it properly as I had to get him to remove the P0300 light for me.

I know of the issue you are talking about.

This is the other major issue our software has with theirs.. Again, we use GM's format where as they use a proprietary method for disabling the DTC's. Their method does work, it just does not follow GM's approach.

Our product requires GM's standardized format for integrity reasons.

Will I have problems using this bin file in the future or it only affects DTC's?

You can still use the .bin file, but I"m not sure what other proprietary methods they have used that may affect future operation with our product.

We try to follow GM's methods every chance we get. Doing DTC's is a pretty easy thing to do following GM's method.

    Sorry.
