Wanting to launch in 2nd gear

How do I configure a stock auto transmission to launch in 2nd gear when the gear selector is in 2nd gear?

i dont know that you can...i dont believe the programmer is position specific...you cuold probably get it to launch in second by changing the shift points & such but it would shift like that in all positions id assume.

use 2nd gear start... then manually shift to 3rd (not sure what vehicle this is for though so don't know if it's supported)

w/my TA i can put the shifter in 2 and it will start in 2nd gear

if you have the scanner running while driving, you can lock it in gear, but, you'd have to unlock it or it will stay in 2nd gear. not a practical way of doing things i'm sure.

you could make a tune where all of 1st gear is 0's and shifts into 2nd at 0 mph amd 0 rpm...
I dont have an a4 myself..but it makes sense to me

can I ask why you want to launch in 2nd??
are you just frying teh tires in first??or did you get some really huge gears to compensate for the crappy 4l60e gear gaps?? and now 2nd is 1st..LOL

I'll take a look at the standard tune for the GTS.

I have 3.91 gears and a hi-stall converter fitted and sometimes launching just churns the tyres in 1st gear. Others have gained better ET's launching in 2nd at the track with similar setups. So I am looking at the option of launching in 2nd gear.
