im sure there is a solution we just haven't found it yet.

in my career I work with Modbus (industrial serial or IP protocol) on a regular basis and its always the little things that lock us up. most times its either the polling rate, incorrect parity, slave (client) device ID or parameters are not match up with host (server) device. its always something stupid. we have a tendency to over look the little stuff a lot and that is what always bites us in the ass. good thing is it always gets figured out and this will too. I realize that Modbus and Canbus different but the principal is the same.

FYI, we don't support the AEM 30-0333, you'll have to contact AEM's support for that.
Keith, should those parameters show up whether or not the can device is there and active or will it only display when one is on the network? also neither JPC or I am even seeing an option for engine in the OBD controller on the channel selector

Yeah, that's exactly why I was wondering what settings everyone was running on the AEM. There were a lot of settings for bitrate, etc. that I assume have to match up between everything

I have had 3.2 loaded since it came out. but I do know that GMtech (im almost positive he has an E67) has his working although If I remember they are 03-0300's. another strange thing is I do have them in my chart parameter selector. but not in the channel selector.

JPC have you tried to contact HPT support and AEM support. working together with both of them may be able to get you some positive results?
If you don't have one connected, you'll never see it in the Channel selector. HP polls for modules on the bus to acquire the "Channels" available. The third "Unknown" module is your car's Fuel Pump Control Module. CTS-V, Camaro, ZR1, etc. all have them.

That's why I was asking if JPC had everything connected while re-polling. It won't show up as an option in channels without it actually being available to use... which means it being connected when re-polling

I had it 100% connected with the car running. I don't know where else to look. Me having the id1-i16 option in my guage setting makes me wonder where those 1-16 settings would be in hptuners so I could match them up...

cool thanks for the heads up that is exactly what i wanted to know. so just having the AEM on the can network should then populate the engine section under the obd2 controller (that currently does not show up) portion of the channels selector and or sensors under that?

Different PID's will (should) show up as different bank / sensor locations in HPT. There's a chart of what is what in the AEM manual.

I was using the default of ECU 6 and PID 1. 11 bytes, 500kbps

The problem is it doesn't populate for me when I have everything hooked up and repoll

HPT will find it on it's own when you repoll IF it can see the controller and things are working correctly.

When it repolls it basically asks for a list of every PID that each computer has to offer.. so when that happens the AEM WB should be responding to say it it has PID 123456789 which is WB bank 1 sensor 1 (for example) then it will show up correctly in the list of stuff you can add to your channel list

Yes. Just make sure you select "Vehicle>Repoll for Supported Parameters" after everything is hooked up and the Scanner is connected to the vehicle. Otherwise the Scanner will be working off the "old" (previous) PID list and likely still won't show anything.

That's exactly what I have done with no success. The pids on the aem instruction sheet, I'm assuming one those needs to be entered manually for whichever bank you since the other way hasn't worked? I talked to Aem and all they told me is the guage won't work til it is setup. Therefore hp nor the car knows where to look. Very vague

Did you try what Schpenxel suggested in post 288?

Just got off the phone with someone at Aem that knows what's up. I have one of the older units that doesn't have the proper software. All this over something that stupid. So they are shipping me a new unit. Will be week damn it.

I had a feeling something like that was the case when you were saying the menu system didn't line up with the manual

At least they admitted it and this problem will likely be solved.

think ill wait and see if this gets resolved.
