    Downloadable User Guide

I am going to purchase the VCM Suite in the near future, and I will be a total nubie to PCM tuning. I would like to get a preview of what it is all about. Is it possible to get a copy of the User Guide or Help file I have seen mentioned on this forum?

Also, will the VCM Suite allow me to record what the car does to a laptop PC and later use this data to improve my 99 Vettes performance (if I can learn how to use the data of course)??

Thanks for any info to help me get started in the PCM world.

I agree, a downloadable user manual would be great.

    Re: Downloadable User Guide

Seems like a users guide would be helpful to everyone. I know I don't have a clue of how to tune with the software. I am sitting here trying to figure out what all these settings mean or do??? It would take a long time to read all the post about tuning, and I still would not know where to start and what to change, other than the basic gear and tire size!
I hope I will figure it out one day!

Yes the help files tell me what each part of the program does, but I don't know what values to change to or from, and what effect changing a certain value will have! Basically if you don't know how to tune a vcm, where do you start and what values do you change to effect a certain aspect of the cars peformance. :huh2:

I know how to use and work on computers. I work in the IT field, but I am not sure what to change on my car?
    Example:
I have installed all the bolt-ons, LT headers, ory, heads, cam, intake, and TB. The car won't idle cold, but after it warms up, it runs fine. The torque convertor locks up in third and fourth gear, under part throttle conditions How do I fix those issues?

we are limited to describing what things do and giving examples of how to change things. We cannot give tuning advice.

yeah it kinda sucks but thats the way it has to be unfortunately...

Maybe some enterprising tuning guru, could start holding tuning info sessions via the net or similar? I just checked and www.diytuners.com hasn't been registered yet

    ain't that the truth

but seriously, i think people would pay money for a tuning your LS1 PCM book or online guide (using HPTuners of course)

I know i would, if it had existed back then...

it's a standard windows help file... if you're using XP you have to tell XP it's ok to open it (right click, properties, there's an option to allow it)

    or you can also use:
