Did you open a file?
What is the error message you are receiving.

I can't edit because after I read VCM it takes about 3 minutes. It asks to save file. I name file and press save. I doesn't save. I have tried several times. It seems to read fine it just won't save. I tried to save in my doc's. Computer has plenty of space. Thats why I can't edit. What should I do?
Are you getting an error message or it just won't save it? Don't forget you have to name the file before you save it. Something like "stock.bin"
Ken
I name file. But I put name after the Bin. Unless you have to put the name before the bin. ??? Also no error codes!
you must put the name before the .bin, examples would be:
stock.bin
read-6-12-11.bin
98 Corvette Stock.bin

It is strange that the scanner will allow the edit function to work after the key is turned off but when connected and scanner running, edit function does not work, ???
You cannot change the scanned parameters while you are actually scanning. To change what you are scanning, you must click the stop button first.

Still doesn't work!
LASTLS1 - where in the following are you having problems?
You run VCM Flash, read the VCM for 3 minutes, then save it to "file name".bin
You then run VCM Editor, select File > Open, and pick "file name".bin
You then select Edit > ... to bring up the various PCM parameters...
Is this something simple like VCM Flash is saving the .bin file in one directory, and VCM Editor is looking at another directory? (So all you have to do is navigate the file system to the correct directory)
If unsure, do a search on your hard drive for the file name you saved, and compare that to the directory VCM Editor is initially looking in.
I'm saving the file in (my doc's.) After saving MANY times, after the file was named. The file doesn't show up. I just did a complete search in all files and folders. Nothing!
Try saving it on your desktop.

What is the file name you are using?
When you save the file, give it a name like test.bin, then at the very top of the save as window, there should be a little section that says "Save In:" Click the down arrow to the right of the box and select desktop. Save it there.
Then open up the VCM Editor program. Click File->Open and in the "Look In:" section, click the down arrow tot he right of the box and select desktop, You should then see test.bin

You have to delete the * before the bin. or it will not save the info.
